Sound healing with Tibetan Singing Bowls

An increasing number of people are experiencing the powerful healing effects of Tibetan singing bowls. Their vibrations are described as the “sound of the universe manifesting” and have been used for centuries in ceremonies, meditation and spiritual practices. Tibetan Singing bowls originate from the Himalayan regions of Tibet, Nepal and India and are believed to originate from the shamanic “Bon” tradition preceding Tibetan Buddhism.

What is sound healing, and how do the Tibetan Singing bowls assist your body in the healing process?

Sound healing is based on the scientific understanding that everything in the universe is vibrating on a particular frequency. When the Tibetan Singing Bowls are placed in a specific sequence, they emit vibrational frequencies which resonate with our physical and energetic body. The bowls connect with particular chakras (energy centers) in the body and help the functioning and flow of energy within the body.

The sounds also work to synchronize our brain frequencies - depending on whether we are feeling active, stressed, tired or relaxed our brain waves fluctuate between the different frequencies all the time. The Singing Bowls help to shift our brain state from the active “waking” Beta state, to the more receptive and meditative frequency of Theta.

There is scientific proof that the sound produced by the Tibetan Singing bowls have a biological effect on the body - including the improved functioning of our immune system, a reduction in physical pain, and reduced feelings or stress or anxiety. Therefore, regular sound healing sessions assist in our overall sense of balance, harmony and ability to heal ourselves.

What happens during a session?

A sessions last 60 minutes and is experienced laying down on your back. A set of seven singing bowls will be placed around, above or on the body. When played, they promote and allow a sense of relaxation, peace and overall healing.

During the session, all you need to do is simply relax in a meditative state and allow the sounds to carry you effortlessly through the experience. It is normal to experience some sensations caused by the shifting of energetic blockages that have been held within the body and mind for prolonged periods of time.
